The Permanent Forum strongly encourages States to provide disaggregated data on health and social welfare indicators for indigenous populations in order to better assist in the monitoring and evaluation of outcomes at the national and international levels.

Responses

The Russian Federation reports that an international conference on Medico-Social Problems of Numerically Small Peoples of the North was held in September 2005 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The goal of the conference was to coordinate research on medical and demographic trends among numerically small peoples of the North, specifics of disease susceptibility among these peoples, and health management in the areas with low density of population.
