While the Millennium Development Goals provide an important international framework for addressing extreme poverty and health and social outcomes, the Permanent Forum recommends that it is vital that further work be undertaken to ensure that the related programmes reflect full appreciation and respect for the rights and aspirations of indigenous peoples.
