OHCHR reports: “On the date of submission of the present report, the Human Rights Council had not yet established the relevant mechanism for conducting the aforementioned universal periodic review, and that issue will therefore be considered during the first half of 2007. At its special sessions in 2006, the Human Rights Council discussed the urgent situations in Palestine, Lebanon and the Sudan.”
