The Permanent Forum recommends that staff in country offices as well as those who work on specific countries from their own headquarters ensure the full participation of indigenous peoples in conducting evaluations under the United Nations Development Assistance Framework, as recommended in the 2004 framework.

Responses

The Government of Switzerland states: “There is a need for enforced mainstreaming of indigenous rights throughout the United Nations system and in the policies of international development organizations, so that a coherent framework underpins all strategies and processes supporting the integration of indigenous issues in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.”
