The Permanent Forum takes note of the recent declaration of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum, at its session held in Lima from 13 to 16 April 2008, and recommends that United Nations agencies, donors and States show their support and cooperation for the next session of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum, to be held in Colombia in 2011.

Responses

The Government of Mexico reports: 22. One of the commitments made by all the institutions invited to the first International Forum of Indigenous Women, held in Lima in April 2008, was to publicize the recommendations emanating from that event, and to collaborate in the promotion of the activities deriving from those recommendations, especially when they promote the participation, development and equality of indigenous women.

The Government of Spain reports on its financial support to the First International Indigenous Women's Forum, hwld in Lima, Peru in April 2008.
