The Permanent Forum recommends that Member States, United Nations agencies and indigenous peoples’ organizations engage actively in the midterm evaluation of the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People and submit reports evaluating the implementation of the Decade at the national level.

Responses

A number of agencies and Member States have reported to SPFII evaluating the implementation of the Decade. A mid-term evaluation of the Decade is forthcoming from SPFII.

Ecuador reports (2010):: With respect to recommendation 34, the Government has engaged actively in the midterm evaluation of activities for the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People and submitted a report that provides an overview of its commitment to the welfare of indigenous peoples and nationalities.

Finland reports (2010): Finland encaged into the implementation of the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples by submitting, during fall 2009, its mid-term evaluation report on the implementation of the Second Decade to the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
